Student academic entry requirements
6 Month VISA
IELTS (5.5) – students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Intermediate (B1/B2) and then 10 weeks IELTS.
IELTS (6.0 and 6.5) - students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Upper Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Upper Intermediate (B2) and then 10 weeks IELTS.
IELTS (7.0 and 7.5) – students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Advanced. Students can study 10 weeks Advanced (C1) and then 10 weeks IELTS.
FCE (First Certificate in English) - students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Upper Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Upper Intermediate (B2) and then 10 weeks FCE.
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) - students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Advanced. Students can study 10 weeks Advanced (C1) and then 10 weeks CAE.
The above assumes that students study for a minimum of 5 months. If students are only able to attend for a shorter period, the minimum requirements would need to be raised.
11 Month VISA
IELTS (5.5) – students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Elementary. Students can study 10 weeks Elementary (A2), 10 weeks Pre Intermediate (A2/B1), 10 weeks Intermediate (B1/B2) and then 10 weeks IELTS.
IELTS (6.0 and 6.5) - students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Pre Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Pre Intermediate (A2/B1), 10 weeks Intermediate (B1/B2), 10 weeks Upper Intermediate (B2) and then 10 weeks IELTS.
IELTS (7.0 and 7.5) – students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Intermediate (B1/B2), 10 weeks Upper Intermediate (B2), 10 weeks Advanced (C1) and then 10 weeks IELTS.
FCE (First Certificate in English) - students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Pre Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Pre Intermediate (A2/B1), 10 weeks Intermediate (B1/B2), 10 weeks Upper Intermediate (B2) and then 10 weeks FCE.
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English) - students can only be accepted if their level is a minimum of Intermediate. Students can study 10 weeks Intermediate (B1/B2), 10 weeks Upper Intermediate (B2), 10 weeks Advanced (C1) and then 10 weeks CAE.
The above assumes that students study for a minimum of 10 months. If students are only able to attend for a shorter period, the minimum requirements would need to be raised.
Consideration should also be given to the time available to book and take exams within the time constraints of the VISA and whether the students intends to take the exam in the UK or their own country.
