Students holidays
The North of England School of English understands that part time students may wish to go on holiday during their course.
FAQs
When can I take a holiday?
The school closes for 2 weeks at Christmas. Students may want to take extra holiday during their studies. Students must inform the school of any planned holidays in advance and if you are in a class with other students, you must inform the school of your holiday before the start of the course.
Students who are in a class with others, will not be given a refund for any missed classes, however, we agree to email details of what was covered in each lesson, together with homework. Upon return, if a student feels that they need additional help, one to one classes can be offered subject to teacher availability but the student would need to pay an additional £24 for each 90 minute lesson.
Students who study one to one will not lose any money if the school is informed at least 2 weeks in advance before your holiday start date. If the student has a regular weekly time slot and they have regular holidays, we reserve the right to offer this timeslot to another student.
Students should not join a language school if they are going to be out of the UK on a regular basis. To make real progress, regular weekly lessons are a necessity. Part time students must have an average of one lesson a week at this school.
How do I book a holiday?
You will need to write your holiday dates on the whiteboard in reception area, along with your name, and inform your teacher in advance.
Will a holiday affect my studies?
If your teachers feel that you are missing a large amount of the course content, you may be asked to repeat your current level. If an extended holiday is taken, students may be required to take a level test again upon re-joining the school.
